Do I need to send the whole G-Technology enclosure or just the disks?
Send the complete unit wherever possible. For G-RAID and G-SPEED arrays, keep disks in their original bay order. If shipping bare drives, label each with its slot number.
How long does recovery take?
Single-drive logical cases typically take 2–5 business days after approval. Physical work or multi-bay RAID reconstructions can take 5–10 days. A 24/7 emergency option is available.
Is there a no-recovery—no-fee policy?
Yes. You pay a £99+VAT diagnostic for evaluation. Recovery fees are only charged if we retrieve your required data.
Can you handle encrypted or password-protected volumes?
Yes, including bridge/enclosure encryption and OS-level encryption like FileVault and BitLocker. Please provide the password or recovery key.
Will my folder structure be preserved?
If file system metadata is healthy, we preserve the original structure. With severe corruption, we supply a file inventory and recover raw data with best-effort naming.
Should I try First Aid, CHKDSK or a RAID rebuild?
No—these can write to failing media and reduce success rates, especially on degraded RAIDs. Power off and contact us instead.
How should I package equipment for courier collection?
Use an anti-static bag, at least 5 cm bubble-wrap on all sides, and a rigid box. Include contact details and a brief fault description.
Will data recovery void my warranty?
Data recovery is separate from hardware warranties. We use non-destructive imaging and clean-room methods. Check your manufacturer’s terms for specifics.
